The scaffold's down!

At last the scaffold has been taken down and we can see the (almost) finished house

it took 2 joiners 5 days to assemble this!

Moved in

Friday 7th May---moved in but building work not quite complete!

the view will be better without the scaffold...

and when the stairs are installed we'll be able to move this lot......

in the meantime we have an aluminium staircase!

Delay!

We have had to delay our move by a week because we still have our bespoke staircase and banister! The carpenter seems to work on Devon Time and hasn't finished making the stairs. We thought that the removal men wouldn't appreciate taking all the beds up the ladder so next Friday is the new date for " the move ".

Progress!

Two weeks on and the moving in date has been set. It's 4 weeks away...

The floor insulation is going down room by room,

The French doors are in in the Kitchen,

It's mostly plastered and the painting is following on behind,

The solar panel has been installed, the roof tiles are still a work in progress!

In the kitchen the underfloor heating is in,

And the front door is in!

Let's hope the next 2 weeks are as busy!

Exciting news! The project is now starting to look like a house; studwork in place for the bedrooms

It's been another wintry weekend. Here we are out for a walk near Haytor,

but inside the tent it's snug for Fred and his crew to make progress

out of site the electricians have started installing cables

or it could be a stage for pop concert....
